Description
After Hours GP Service is an urgent after hours healthcare service which operates from 6pm to 8am - 7 days per week.
The nearest ED’s are located at Dunedin Public Hospital or Lakes District Hospital in Frankton.

If you need to access URGENT healthcare please call via Ka Ora Telecare – 0800 252 672.
The phone triage service will take your details and if appropriate make arrangements for you to be seen by the After Hours GP service.
We do not accept “walk ins” - you must call and be triaged first.
Dunstan Hospital does not provide an Accident & Emergency (A&E) Service. In an emergency dial 111

The doctor who sees you has gone through an extensive medical training to equip her or him to help children and adults of all ages with a range of physical and emotional difficulties. GPs are also aware of the link that stress and unhappy life events have on physical health so know when to suggest a talking therapy rather than medication.

Primary care practices offer a range of services and are able to deal with most minor accident care. If they are not able to deal with an injury they will refer on to the appropriate service.
