Today

9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Description

WAIRARAPA AFTER HOURS is an urgent care service only.

The service is run on behalf of all the Wairarapa Medical Practices, and Doctors and Nurse Practitioners from these Practices work on a rotating roster. It provides urgent medical care to all Wairarapa and out of town patients. You do not have to be enrolled in a Wairarapa Practice to use this service. Please see fees list below.

Please note: Whilst the service operates from the Masterton Medical building at 4 Colombo Road it is a separate service. Masterton Medical is not open after hours. No Masterton Medical business can be undertaken whilst the After Hours service is running.

Wairarapa After Hours is open weekends and public holidays: 9am-5pm. Please call first before attending the service. (Christmas day is an on call system only - see below)

Wairarapa After Hours staff are provided by the seven Waiararapa Practices on a rotating basis.

How do I access this service?

Contact us

How the Wairarapa After Hours service works:

Please call first on 06 370 0011 and speak to our friendly staff. You will then be given an approximate time to attend. By calling first you will be advised the best time to attend the service which can help reduce the time you need to spend in the waiting room. Phone consults can be offered in some circumstances. Please be aware that as this is an urgent care service, patients are seen in order of urgency (relative to symptoms) rather than order of arrival. Wait times can vary depending on demand and urgency of symptoms.

Please note:

  • This service is not funded, so there is a fee charged for seeking advice as well as for appointments. (See below on where to access free health advice)
  • There is no charge for a triage phone call that results in you then coming in to see the doctor.
  • If you feel you have been charged incorrectly, please contact us as soon as possible.
