MB ChB 2011 Otago

I have arrived at East Otago Health from the dizzying heights of Dunedin Hospital where I have worked since graduating from Otago Medical School in 2011.

Hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland a long time ago, the last 4 years has been spent working in the various medical specialties of the hospital as Registrar, essentially covering everything … and in the process gaining good knowledge across the board.

Although I had once planned on specialising in Cardiology, I can sincerely say that the short time spent thus far at East Otago Health has opened my eyes to the joy of General Practice. More than anything I want to help you achieve wellness by ensuring that what I know you know too, in an interaction that's as much friend as it is physician.

Outside of medicine I'm a complicated chap with many interests; descending rapidly down hills on two wheels, defying death sliding down snow covered mountains and near drowning in the washing machine of Otago's surf. I live in a tree house located in some bush on Dunedin's peninsula with a wonderful partner, a mental cat, a plethora of native birds and some amazing friends. I have 4 children aged from 3 to 10, both girls and boys so believe me, I know how you feel!!!
