Profile

Mark Bevin has been a member of Dunedin North Medical Center for 37 years and has now retired from general consulting to focus solely on skin cancer detection and management. This has been an interest for many years and he updates his skills regularly at courses in Australia and New Zealand. He is able to offer a full skin check at a regular weekly clinic, and surgery to remove lesions that do not require specialist management.

The reduction in work hours has allowed more time for gardening, piano, and family (especially the grandchildren), and you may see him from time to time accompanying other musicians at events near and far. A focus for 2021 has been the restoration of his great-great-grand-father’s grave at the Southern Cemetery with an unveiling and family reunion at Anzac weekend. Sgt Major John Bevin survived the charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava and was subsequently a major figure in the Dunedin police force.
