Profile

Dr Nerissa Jones is a compassionate GP with a strong educational background. She received her primary medical qualifications, including a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, from the University of Otago. Dr Jones furthered her expertise by obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology.
 
Having undergone training at various locations, including Dunedin, Wellington, and Hawke's Bay, Nerissa accumulated valuable experience over the years. Her medical journey led her to practice in different regions before settling back in her hometown of Tauranga to embark on her general practice training.
 
Nerissa has a keen interest in women's health and sexual health, recognising the significance of these aspects in overall well-being. She believes that providing expert and compassionate care in these areas can profoundly impact an individual's health.
 
As a clinician, Dr Jones finds fulfillment in establishing meaningful relationships with her patients and their families, aiming to make a lasting positive impact on their health and well-being. Outside of her medical practice, she enjoys activities such as reading, exercising, baking, and gardening.
