Covid-19 vaccination

COVID-19 Vaccination

  • Make an appointment

Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is an important step you can take to protect yourself, your kaumātua and whānau from the effects of the virus. For more information on the COVID-19 vaccines and eligibility visit Ministry of Health - COVID-19 vaccines

The majority of routine vaccinations can now be administered before, after, or at the same time as your COVID-19 vaccinations. The exception to this is the Zostavax (shingles) vaccine where a 7-day gap before or after receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 is advised. If you have any questions, please discuss with your healthcare provider.

Meadowbank Medical Centre was opened on the 28th of August 1982 by Dr Wellington Tan.

Dr Tan developed a holistic approach and added a special interest in Acupuncture and Muscular Skeletal and Manual Medicine to the general practice. By 1990, the practice had grown to full capacity.

In 1992 Dr Yam from Hong Kong joined the practice as an associate to build up his practice in the growing Asian population.

Dr Angie Young joined the practice in 1996 as a locum to serve the needs of women's health in addition to general medical practice.

In 2009, after 35 years of dedicated service to his work, Dr Tan retired from full-time practice. He returns intermittently to do locums and sessions in acupuncture.

Since 2000, Dr Doo had been involved in doing in locums and in 2009, stepped in to be the principal doctor of Meadowbank Medical Centre.

Dr Doo has wide experience in Accident & Emergency Medicine with a special interest in Appearance Medicine.

From its inception, the centre has had a Practice Nurse/Manager and 3 part-time receptionists that help maintain the practice to run efficiently and smoothly to ensure the clients receive excellent service.
