We are a family-centred surgery offering a full range of general practice services to you and your family.
Consultations are by appointment only and we reserve 10-15 appointment slots for urgent "on the day" or "afternoon only" appointments. Our standard consultation time is 15 minutes. After hours care is done by Homecare Medical Limited, to whom the phones are switched over each evening and for practice meetings. Existing patients may book standard appointments online using the MyIndici service or telephone our receptionists during office hours.
The practice is fully computerised so that all consultation notes, lab results, referrals, tasks and messages are done via computer; incoming typed or written mail is scanned into patients files. We can access broadband so that information can be sought during consultations and handouts given.
We are accepting new patients, however, we take only patients new to the district, and residing in our local area. Some of our doctors are not taking on new patients apart from family of current patients.
Mission Bay Doctors participate in Your Health Summary which gives other healthcare professionals a summary of important parts of your medical records when you need healthcare outside of your usual GP. This could be in an emergency or out of hours. Only authorised healthcare professionals can access the system and they must ask you for permission. If you wish to opt off this service, please email your contact details to contact@yourhealthsummary.org.nz and advise that you do not want your information shared.
Staff
We have 10 GPs in our practice (see details below under “Doctors”). All our GPs work part time.
We have 4 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Improvement Practitioner, 4 Receptionists, 1 Administrator and 1 Practice Manager; all work part time as well.
NOTE: Receptionists available to take calls from 7:30am on each workday, and closes the door early when the last appointment for the day is finished.
