Description

The mission statement of Stonefields Medical Centre is the provision of a high quality, dedicated GP service for patients of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to improve patient access to health services, to enable greater patient participation, ownership and control in managing their health. We strive to create an environment that is caring, respectful, empathetic and collaborative with our patients, and supportive, stimulating and rewarding for our staff.   

We recommend CareHQ as our preferred GP service for patients, after-hours or when we are unavailable. CareHQ is available 7 days a week 7am - 7pm. Find out more. 

For the month of April 2025 CareHQ are offering special rates to our patients:  CareHQ appointments at subsidised rates - $49.95 for standard GP appointments, $29.95 for Nurse appointments, or $19.50 for CSC appointments.

The codes to use when booking your appointment at www.carehq.co.nz are 

Non-CSC patients is CARE-1, and the code for CSC holders is CARE-2

What does "enrolling" mean?


For your first appointment you will see our HCA or Nurse for a 15 minute appointment followed by your new GP for a 30 minute appointment.  The cost of your first appointment will be $100.00 (18 to 65+),  $70.00 (14-17 years). CSC Holders $50.00 (18 to 65+), $40.00 (14-17 years).  There after,  normal consult fees will apply.

Our fees are based on 15-minute consultations and are valid from 12th August 2024

If you have more than one problem you are consulting your GP about or need extra time, please book a double appointment.

To minimize your costs to visit your GP, please ensure that you have enrolled with us in order to qualify for the government subsidy and lower fees.

We do not see unenrolled/casual patients.

Payment Policy:
Payment is expected at the end of each consultation or upon request of a script/ referral letter. We accept cash, eftpos, payment through internet banking, or over the phone via authorised, secure CNP process.

If paying online, please include your name or patient chart number as a reference. A $15 administration fee applies to any accounts not paid within 7 days. If the account remains overdue after 90 days, a further $30 administration fee will be charged and referral to a debt collection agency will be made.

Recommended after-hours virtual provider: If it’s after hours or if one of our doctors is not available, you can get a virtual GP consultation with a real doctor by using CareHQ, from 7am – 7pm, 7 days per week.

To see an online doctor, all you need is a computer or smart phone. Go to www.carehq.co.nz and click ‘Book Now’. Alternatively, jump on the CareHQ app and log in. Once you are registered and logged in, select a standard ‘GP 10 minute consult’.

Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an email confirming the date and time for your appointment. You will then receive a text message and email 15-minutes prior to your appointment with a video link to start the virtual appointment.
Please note - consultations cancelled within 6 hours of the scheduled appointment time will be charged.

If you need a prescription or tests, this can be arranged for you during your online appointment and then sent to the appropriate pharmacy or testing centre.

If you have unreliable wi-fi, not enough data, or do not start your virtual appointment, your GP may call you for a phone consult instead.

Your appointment will be with a doctor from CareHQ, which is a trusted online service with highly qualified New Zealand doctors, available from 7am – 9pm, 7 days a week (including public holidays). Please note, virtual consults are suitable for most medical needs, sicknesses or injuries, from common colds, urine infections, migraines and repeat scripts for your pharmacy, through to acne and health counselling. If you are unsure if CareHQ is right for you, please email care@carehq.co.nz and the team will respond as soon as possible. As standard, if you have a medical emergency such as severe pain, collapse, or shortness of breath, please call 111 immediately.
