Description

The Calder Centre - providing affordable, accessible healthcare for all.

The Auckland City Mission opened the doors to its new medical centre, The Calder Centre, on 3 June 2008, named in honour of Jasper Calder, the Auckland City Mission’s first Missioner.

The Calder Centre is a joint initiative between the Auckland Primary Health Organisation (PHO), Auckland District Health Board and Auckland City Mission to bring primary healthcare services to the most marginalised Aucklanders, many of whom have extremely high and complex health needs.

The service is set up as a very low cost General Practice and is closely integrated with the Mission's Social Work services.

The centre is open to the general public and specialises in providing accessible, affordable care to the homeless, families and individuals in crisis, clients with mental health concerns, and those with alcohol and other drug related problems. Due to barriers such as lack of finances, trust issues, cultural issues and very chaotic lifestyles many of these clients do not have a regular access to a GP. You are welcome to bring a support person to your clinic appointment.

All children and teenagers up to the age of 18 are free of charge.

The Calder Centre is at 140 Hobson Street, Auckland and is open Monday to Friday. Phone: (09) 303 9266 for information or to make an appointment.

Located in the same building is Hobson Street Pharmacy, providing additional healthcare services to the community.

We have Hepatitis C, podiatry and mental health assessment clinics onsite.
