Waimauku Doctors is a Cornerstone Accredited practice. The achievement of Cornerstone Accreditation signifies a practice's commitment to patients by meeting legal/safety standards and essential standards set by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. This ensures our patients receive high quality care.

We now have an online Patient Portal service where you can confidentially access online some of your clinical information including blood tests, notes, immunisations and measurements. You can make an appointment and view availability of your preferred Dr by template. To access the online service you need to inform a staff member at Waimauku Doctors who will register your email with Health 365.

We are currently not able to do routine blood tests as a service to our enrolled patients.

We have some projects that the nurses are active in to help our patients assess their health needs; these being Smoking Brief Advice and CVD Assessment. These services are free to patients, although if there is anything to be followed up with the doctor it will incur our usual charges.

Helen Aish is a counsellor attached to our practice  for personal or couple counselling.

Jadelle insertion for contraception now provided by Dr Hillebrand and Dr Ho.

Free CVD Assessments are available with the nurses for men over 45 and women over 55. This is a check up to work out your risk of having a heart attack or stroke in the next five years. The nurses will take a brief medical and family history, take some measurements e.g. blood pressure and weight. There is also a blood test which we are able to take at the clinic.

The nurses will then look at your risks with you, and advise you of things that you can do to reduce your risk.

Waimauku Doctors  is a large, purpose-built Medical and Accident centre with plenty of parking and ease of access. There is a disability parking space, or patients are welcome to be dropped off at the front door. There are two ambulance bays.

We usually have two doctors and two nurses available at any time and three doctors on busy days.

Consultations are 15mins for a standard visit. Double consults by request incur an additional fee. We endeavour to keep to time but, but being a rural practice, delays due to medical need and fit-in emergencies will occur.

Nurse consultations are available. These cost $35.

Our patients may also have a support person present during a consultation.

We added a pharmacy to the centre 18 years ago. This has brought a much needed service to our area. The on site pharmacy is owned and operated by Robbie Hannon, who employs a skilled group of pharmacists and technicians to give advice and dispense medication. All prescriptions can be filled Monday to Friday. Robbie also has a full retail pharmacy now located in the Waimauku Village, situated next door to our satellite medical centre Silver Fern Medical - a mere 120m walk away.  For more information go to www.waimaukupharmacy.co.nz

We are a certified teaching practice for medical students and nurses. This provides an invaluable insight for young doctors and nurses into primary care.
