Paramedic Associates is a boutique mobile health provider primarily servicing the Canterbury and Nelson/Tasman areas.
We provide in-home clinical services on behalf of general practices, primary health organisations (PHOs), private specialists and other health providers, enabling patients to receive timely care in their own environment.
We also accept self-referrals from people needing urgent in-home medical care. Our service is ideal for people who are unable to travel to a clinic, can't secure a timely GP appointment, or simply prefer to receive care in the comfort of their home or hotel room.
Our experienced team provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for a wide range of conditions, such as:
- Dehydration
- Diarrhoea and vomiting
- Migraines
- Infections
- Acute pain
- Wounds
- Minor injuries
Additionally, we provide a range of planned and non-urgent services directly to patients. These include in-home administration of prescribed infusions and medications, ECGs, immunisations, NZTA driver licence medicals, phlebotomy (blood tests), and more.
To ensure continuity of care, we work closely with the patient's usual health provider and send electronic care summaries to their GP.
Registered Paramedics: Our paramedics are experienced registered health professionals, who hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedicine) or equivalent and a Postgraduate Diploma in Paramedicine specialising in Critical and/or Extended Care. All of our paramedics have extensive experience in the emergency ambulance environment, assessing and treating patients with a broad range of urgent and emergency health needs.
Registered Nurses: Our registered nurses hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and either hold or are working towards a postgraduate clinical qualification. Our nurses have extensive nursing experience in fields such as general practice, urgent care, and emergency medicine, and are well versed in providing clinical care to a wide spectrum of patients - from people with primary health needs to those who are critically unwell.
Our team is supported by specialist doctors, who provide clinical advice and support when required.
