White Cross Lunn Ave - Urgent Care & GP

Services Provided

Travel Health Advice

Another service offered to you at your GP surgery (primary care practice) is advice and immunisation before you go to another country. While you are likely to have the immunisations needed to live in New Zealand, there may be other injections you need to protect yourself before going for example to Africa or South America. In some places you will need protection from rabies or malaria. Yellow fever vaccinations are only available at approved centres; please click here to view the centres in New Zealand. Your doctor will be able to tell you what diseases you will need to be protected from in any named country and advise you on other medical matters.

We run a Travel Medicine clinic for all your vaccination and healthcare needs prior to travelling.

Dr Selim Kabir, an approved provider for Yellow Fever vaccination, can provide travel advice and vaccinations to people planning on travelling or working overseas. The service will also give people travelling or working overseas advice about any pre-existing medical condition they have, medical risks they may face in certain countries and general travel safety advice including conflict zones to avoid.

Appointments are 30 - 45 minutes long and if vaccinations are required, a follow up appointment may be needed.

Prior to the appointment you will need to complete the Travel Questionnaire and return to the clinic at least 3 working days prior.

For an appointment please contact the clinic (09) 570 8899 ext 2.
