The Horowhenua After Hours Clinic is part of the Horowhenua Doctors Duty Roster. This is jointly run by Drs from the following practices:
- Masonic Medical Centre
- Tararua Medical Centre
- Horowhenua Community Practice
- Queen St Surgery
- Te Waiora Community Health Service (Foxton)
- Levin Family Health
For regular continuing healthcare please book an appointment with your regular GP.
We do not provide:
- Driving Medicals
- WINZ or ACC certification
- Repeat Prescriptions

Monday to Friday: The location of the after hours clinic changes depending on which practice is on duty.
Weekends and Public Holidays: The location of the after hours clinic changes depending on which practice is on duty.
After Hours: We partner with Practice Plus to provide same day virtual after-hours GP appointments for enrolled patients, as an extension of our regular medical centre team.
Practice Plus is available weekdays 5pm-10pm and weekends/public holidays 8am-8pm.

The doctor who sees you has gone through an extensive medical training to equip her or him to help children and adults of all ages with a range of physical and emotional difficulties. GPs are at the centre of the healthcare hub and will be aware of services and expertise that are available locally and further-a-field. GPs are also aware of the link that stress and unhappy life events have on physical health so know when to suggest a talking therapy rather than medication.

Primary care practices offer a range of services and are able to deal with most minor accident care. If they are not able to deal with an injury they will refer on to the appropriate service.
