One of a few female specialist oncoplastic breast surgeons in New Zealand who practice all aspects of breast oncology and reconstruction. I am an expert in minimally-invasive diagnostic and treatment methods for all types of breast disease and, following a breast cancer diagnosis, I can offer a full range of partial and whole breast reconstruction. I believe in offering evidence based research to patients when tailoring a surgical solution, and have done extensive research in both breast oncology and reconstruction.

My areas of interest are the management of all benign and malignant breast conditions within an MDT setting, hereditary breast cancer assessment, and top surgery for transgender patients.

I perform all forms of partial and whole breast reconstruction, revision surgery, and prophylactic nipple sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction for high risk genetic patients.

After completing her fellowship Katherine spent a year at one of the world’s best breast centers, Nottingham Breast Institute, with world leading Oncoplastic Breast and Plastic surgeons.

During this time she trained in “the consolidated management of breast cancer and benign breast disease, along with reconstruction, in an effort to offer women a ‘one-stop’ shop approach when faced with breast cancer”.
