I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, working in both public and private sectors. I specialise in hip and knee replacements, sports knee surgery, and any trauma related conditions. 

My journey in the medical field led me to obtain my degree from the University of Otago, and I honed my skills as a junior doctor at Christchurch Hospital for four years.

Following this, I was accepted into the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association Training Program. I had the privilege of learning from exceptional teachers and surgeons across the country, from Dunedin to Hawke’s Bay and Nelson, ultimately returning to my beloved Christchurch to complete the final two years of my training.

After obtaining fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, I spent 6 months working as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Timaru Hospital.

Following this, I went overseas for a further three years of subspecialty post-fellowship training.
The first year was at the University of British Columbia Hospital & Vancouver General Hospital, where I was mentored by world renowned surgeons, performing high volumes of complex hip and knee replacements.

The second year was at the University of Cambridge Hospital, subspecialising in orthopaedic trauma with a special interest in pelvis/hip fractures. Being a quaternary hospital covering approximately 6.2 million people, I was involved in treating over 300 of the most complex trauma patients. I was involved in a BBC medical documentary, following the treatment journey of one of these 300 patients.

Lastly, I spent time at Bristol Royal Infirmary & Southmead Hospital subspecialising in sports knee surgery, including keyhole surgery, meniscus/ligament repair and reconstruction, robotic knee surgery, and treatments for arthritis including joint preserving osteotomy and cartilage regenerative techniques.
