Harbour Hospice is a specialist, palliative care provider for families living in the Hibiscus Coast, North Shore and Warkworth/Wellsford communities. We provide compassionate, free care working primarily with patients, families and carers in their homes, and also within our three hospice sites.
Our friendly and dedicated healthcare professionals include specialist nurses, doctors and family support teams. Together we’re committed to supporting your wellbeing in every way – medically, spiritually, psychologically and socially with an emphasis on helping people live every moment in whatever way is important to them.
At Harbour Hospice we embrace the diversity within our communities, and provide a compassionate, safe and welcoming service to people of all religions, ethnicity, culture and gender diversity.
Harbour Hospice services are partially funded by Te whatu ora Waitemata, and significant funding raised by the hospice fundraising team and community shops.
All Harbour Hospice Services are available at no cost to all people living in our community with specialist palliative care needs.
What is Hospice Palliative Care ?
Palliative care is an approach that improves quality of life of patients and their families, whānau who are facing problems with a life limiting illness. The goal is to prevents and relieve suffering through early identification of needs, whether it be physical, psychosocial or spirtual.
At Harbour Hospice we appreciate that everyone is an individual with their own wants and needs, what matters to them matters to us, and through the holistic nature of care, we explore all aspects of a person- their physical, emotional, social, spiritual and cultural needs.
