Dr Anurag Sekra is a New Zealand Trained gastroenterologist who was born and brought up in India. He went for his medical school in Amlay, Kazakistan. He speaks Hindi and Russian. He did his basic and advanced training in general medicine in Hamilton, Waikato. Following this he finished his training in gastroenterology in Auckland. He has a broad range of experience in all aspects of gastroenterology and has a particular interest in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, newer endoscopic imaging techniques like chromeoendoscopy and virtual chromeoendoscopy and IBD (inflammatory bowel disease).
