Dr Iris Theunis

MSc (Medicine) 2014 Erasmus; FRNZCGP 2021

Dr Theunis finished Medical School at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 2014, after which she worked at the ICU in Venlo for one year and provided a lot of emergency care.

She started her training to become a GP in March 2016 and finished in November 2018 and during those years worked in a big city practice and in a small rural practice.  After training she moved to New Zealand with her husband and dog.

Dr Theunis is specialised in Emergency Care, since she completed a one year extracurricular course in 2018, but considers herself as an all round GP.

Dr Theunis joined the team at Paeroa Medical Centre in January 2019 and is available four days a week.
