Dr Smith is a New Zealand trained surgeon who specialises in the use of laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat conditions like reflux, hernias and gallstones as well as metabolic and other complications of excess weight.
Established in 2012 our focus is on providing high quality care for the people of Otago and Southland. We are based in Dunedin but also provide regular monthly face-to-face clinics in Invercargill, Queenstown as well as Zoom telehealth consultations.

Dr Smith is an Affiliated Provider to Southern Cross Health Insurance for Consultations, Hernia Surgery, Gallbladder Surgery, Anti-reflux Surgery, Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy. Mark is also an NIB First Choice member.
While we do not offer payment plans ‘in house’, we do partner with Nova medical finance who specialise in loans for medical procedures.
