I graduated from Otago Medical School and completed my training at Auckland and National Women’s Hospitals in 1985 having gained postgraduate qualifications in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Subsequently, I travelled to the United Kingdom and gained a Diploma in Anaesthetics before returning to New Zealand in 1989 to begin training in general practice. I am now a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of GPs and have continued post graduate study in general practice gaining a master’s degree with first class honours in 2008.
I have continued my postgraduate studies most recently in the field of travel medicine with plans to develop a specialised Travel Medicine Clinic within the new medical centre.
Outdoor pursuits including mountain biking, skiing and spending time with my family round out my daily activities.
