Profile

Dr Lionel Munemo graduated from the University of Zimbabwe - College of Health Sciences and completed his specialist training in Nuclear Medicine at Tygerberg Hospital & Stellenbosch University, Cape Town. He recently undertook a fellowship in Nuclear Cardiology at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals (Guy’s & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust), London (2023–2024).
 
Lionel works across PET‑CT, cardiac, musculoskeletal and oncologic imaging, and administers radionuclide therapies including PRRT, PSMA therapy and radioactive iodine (RAI). Driven by a passion for both clinical excellence and innovation, Dr Munemo’s research has led to publications in the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology, Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Journal of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
 
An active member of both ANZSNM and AANMS, he has been part of the Auckland medical imaging community since September 2024.
