Qualifications

Registered Midwife, Princess Margaret Hospital, New Zealand, 31 March 1991

Profile

Originally a Registered General Nurse, I qualified as a registered midwife in 1991 and worked in a busy consultant unit at Oxford Radcliffe NHS Trust, UK for 15 years. Here I gained all round experience in varied aspects of midwifery, including the high risk unit, transitional care and community midwifery in a peripheral birthing unit.

I moved to New Zealand in 2004 with my husband and three sons. We spent six months on a memorable camper van trip around the North and South Islands before settling on the Hibiscus Coast. I have worked as an independent midwife since 2007 and enjoy working closely with families in the local community, having the opportunity to be involved with each unique and special childbirth experience.

Managing my own caseload gives me the opportunity to enjoy some leisure time in our lovely surroundings and the various activities that come with having three growing boys in the family. I am currently enjoying completing the finishing touches to our newly built house.
