Rodney Coast Midwives are a group of experienced midwives who work as a team and support each other to maintain a 24 hour service to women. As midwives we are committed to provide women with individualised care which involves the whole pregnancy, birth and postnatal experience. Our aim is to support women through the birth experience by providing a relaxed, homely atmosphere with as little intervention in the natural process as possible.
We wish to foster family bonding by including the family in all aspects of the woman's pregnancy and birth. We believe that continuity of care from one midwife is important as it encourages trust and confidence in each other. Each woman also has a second midwife as a backup.
We believe this service empowers women and provides them with more choice.
