Description

Asian Family Services (AFS) provides free, professional, confidential, nationwide telephone support to Asians living in New Zealand.

These services are offered in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai and Hindi. An interpreter can be arranged for other languages.

Based in Auckland, AFS has 9 staff who speak Chinese, 4 Korean staff, 2 Indian staff, 1 Vietnamese staff and 1 Thai staff.

Based in Wellington, AFS has 1 counsellor who can speak English, Japanese and Mandarin, 1 researcher and 1 public health promoter.

​All staff are trained counsellors, social workers and health promoters.

Asian Family Services is part of the PGF Group (formerly Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand).

Currently AFS has 19 staff in Auckland and 3 staff in Wellington.

All staff are trained counsellors, social workers, health promoters and researcher.
