Referral Process

Anyone is invited to request a Face To Face Counselling Session with the Home & Family Counselling.  Please call 09 630 8961 (Central Auckland) or 09 419 9853 (North Shore | Hibiscus Coast) or use the online contact form to request an appointment.

Healthcare professionals are asked to provide pertinent information and reason for the referral in advance to ensure the Home & Family Counselling team can ensure the sessions are most effective and time-efficient for the client. This information will also enable us to suggest the most appropriate counsellor for the client's needs.

We provide face to face counselling for children and their families, youths, adults, individuals, and couples. We run youth groups in schools and we also have a Supa Savvies programme for seniors.

We have a credible record of achieving positive outcomes for our clients. We are committed to providing a high standard of counselling that remains affordable (voluntary-contribution basis) and accessible to all.

Our service is sensitive to culture, ethnicity, gender and age.

These sessions are usually 50 – 60 minutes long and would initially be held weekly and then may become fortnightly, depending on each individual.

Face to face counselling issues include:

  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Abuse
  • Depression
  • Relationships
  • Parenting issues
  • Teenage transitions
  • Behavioural issues
  • Re-partnering
  • Sexuality
