Referral Process
People may self-refer or refer whānau members. Referrals also come from GPs, DHB clinicians & government agencies. Please phone 09 5314040 or 0800 678 323 for further information on how to access services.
Description
Respite Services provide a safe place to reduce risks associated with a crisis or relapse of mental illness. It is an alternative to being admitted to hospital or an option for earlier discharge from hospital. Trained staff are always present.
We provide the following mental health crisis respite services:
- Adult (Tūmanako & Te Aroha, Manurewa);
- Maternal (Awhi Rito, Manurewa);
- Youth (Mā te Huruhuru, Grey Lynn).
