Maketu Health and Social Services' kaupapa is to develop, promote, purchase and/or provide culturally appropriate programmes and services that will enhance the health and welfare of the people of Maketu and the surrounding districts.

Services include:

  • Rangatahi Maia - youth development service
  • Ahi Ora - substance abuse programme
  • Te Arawa Whānau Ora - support service assisting whānau
  • Whānau Ora - support service for mental health 
  • Mate Huka - community based diabetes programme
  • Kaumātua Day Programmes - lifestyle and recreational day programme for Koroua and Kuia
  • Tāne Programme - mens programme aimed at ending domestic violence offending
  • Wahine Programme - adult safety programme promoting protection of wahine subjected to domestic violence

Maektu Health and Social Services also provides a number of external services to the community including: Inland Revenue, Pouwhenua Clinic, Baywide Community Law Service, Hearing Clinic, Cervical Screening, Budgeting Programmes, Parenting Programmes.
