Description

Mapu Maia is a Pasifika Gambling Support Service providing a dedicated, culturally appropriate service for Pasifika.

We offer free and confidential services. 

Our team of professional counsellors and health promoters work with you and your family.  We can provide support in English, Samoan and Tongan languages. 

Staff

Mapu Maia is made up qualified Pacific practitioners who deliver clinical interventions and educational presentations that are appropriate to the needs of Pacific communities. In addition, the team works collaboratively with community agencies and social services to assist workforce development for staff and support Pacific families in need.

Fees and Charges Description

Our counselling services are free, professional and confidential. We are funded by the Ministry of Health through the gambling levy, to work with all people who are affected by gambling.

This includes friends, family, work colleagues, employers, and anyone affected by someone else's gambling.

Our public health service offers free presentations and workshops for community and professional groups.

Donations are welcome. We are a registered charity.

At Mapu Maia, we aim to provide services that are accessible to Pacific peoples. We deliver Talatalanoa in English, Samoan and Tongan. We can also provide services in the home for the individual, couples, family groups, peer support and clinical groups.
