Formerly MidCentral DHB - Older Adult Mental Health

7 bed inpatient unit with the Palmerston North Hospital Star Ward and community support for older  adults who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness.

The older adult mental health wing within the Star PN ward is for those adults who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness.

We also have a community team able to visit you in the community.

Hours

Inpatient visiting hours are between 2.00pm and 8.00pm. Whānau support people are welcome outside of these hours (please ask about our Mahi Tahi Better Together Initiative). Please contact the senior nurse in charge to access outside of these hours.

Our team provides services to older adults in the community who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm. Please contact 0800 653 357 outside of these hours for urgent mental health issues.
