Alcohol and Drug Services are available at Dannevirke.

Referrals are welcome and you can contact Alcohol and Other Drug Services directly or referrals can be made through a number of sources including:

  • Services within the hospital and other specialist mental health services
  • General Practitioners
  • New Zealand Transport Agency
  • Justice and other community agencies
Description

This service provides assessment, treatment, counselling and referral to residential and day treatment services, when necessary. We also provide:

  • Methadone Maintenance Treatment (OST)
  • Withdrawal Management
  • Groups

Treatment and groups can focus on:

  • Abstinence from alcohol/drugs
  • Reduction of alcohol & drugs
  • Harm reduction
  • Safer controlled use of alcohol/drugs
  • Relapse prevention 

Alcohol and Other Drug Services are provided for people over 18 years of age:

  • With alcohol and/or other drug problems/dependence
  • With co-existing mental health and alcohol and/or other drug disorders
  • At risk of relapse
