Description
The New Zealand Eating Disorders Clinic (NZEDC) has been established out of dedication to helping people get the best eating disorder treatment possible in the private setting.
We are a group of highly skilled and experienced specialist clinicians providing evidence based treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder in both adults and adolescents. We also offer treatment for less severe forms of disordered eating, including compulsive eating, difficulty managing around food and body image concerns.
Treatment specialities include Family Based Treatment (FBT) for adolescents and young adults and specialist therapist-led manualised psychological therapies for all age groups. We also provide specialist medical/psychiatric and nutritional consultations when required as part of treatment.
We also offer treatment for a range of other psychological, emotional and relational problems.

NZEDC will be closed from 23 December 2019 until 5 January 2020. The office will open again from 13 January 2020. This is when we will respond to emails and calls again.
Public Holidays: Closed on all public holidays.
Referral Expectations
Call or email us to tell us about your needs or, if you are ready, make an appointment for an assessment. We also accept referrals from GPs and medical specialists.
What to expect
- Once contact has been made we will ask about what kind of help you are looking for.
- We will then arrange a time for an initial assessment to take place. This will usually take approximately 90-120 minutes.
- Following this we will be able to discuss treatment options with you and arrange appropriate follow-up appointments which may include specialist medical/psychiatric or nutritional consultations.
- We will liaise with your GP to link in treatment with regular medical monitoring.
- It may also be agreed that inclusion of other family members or partners is indicated which we will discuss with you at the time.

Public Transport
The Auckland Transport website is a good resource to plan your public transport options.
Parking
NZEDC is located at 52 College Hill. We have limited car parking.
There is some free 120 minute street parking on the streets around our clinic.
