Support and Advocacy for Caregivers

We offer face to face support or are happy to meet you via video conferencing whenever the situation warrants. We also offer phone support, advocacy and connection to other local services as needed.

Referral Process

For self-referrals, please contact us in the first instance by email, or by using the online contact form on our website.

Referrals from health professionals should be made via email using the PROP referral form (available on request).

Support Group Meetings for Caregivers

We run support groups for existing PROP clients. We meet in Thames, Coromandel, Whitianga, Tairua, Whangamatā, Waihi, Paeroa and Te Aroha. As carer/support person for your loved one, you will gain encouragement from others who understand the impact of having a loved one living with mental illness and/or addiction.

We can organise adult caregiver retreats and youth/family days out for existing PROP clients and whānau. Caregiver Retreats We organise day and overnight retreats to give adult caregivers time out to: have fun, relax and unwind in a safe and friendly environment be amongst others who understand and are available to talk whenever you need take a break and be spoiled Youth/Family Days Out We organise recreational outings to give younger family members some time out to: relax, have fun, be made to feel special and enjoy just being kids make new friends, reconnect with siblings/adult family members and enjoy each other's company
