Referrals to this service are accepted from a range of sources including self referrals/walk ins, public enquiries, GPs, other DHB services/ED/ward, social service agency referrals, concerned members of the public and Police.

This service caters predominantly for adults aged 17-65 years but also works with children, youth and older adults, especially after hours.
Description
The team are experienced Registered Nurses and appointed Duly Authorised Officers (DAO) under the Mental Health Act (1992) responsible for undertaking mental health assessments as well as facilitating Mental Health Act requirements in their DAO roles.
The team has access to a duty Psychiatrist 24/7 and will facilitate assessments with a psychiatrist, if indicated.
