Description

Te Hiku Hauora is a legacy Māori Governed Organisation, established in 1995 by Tangata Whenua o Muriwhenua to serve the health needs of whānau, hapū, Iwi and communities in the Far North of Aotearoa.  Since then, we have become a comprehensive community-based health and wellbeing service and are the largest provider of primary health care services in Te Hiku (Far North) region, focussing in particular on the high needs of our Māori community.

We have a multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare including general practice, home support, pharmacy, health promotion, mental health and specialised mobile nursing services.

We offer comprehensive free stop smoking programmes for all members of the community. All of our programmes are delivered by qualified stop smoking practitioners and provide the highest quality service and support for people in their effort to stop smoking and enjoy a smoke free lifestyle. Services we provide are: Education, awareness and preparation to stop FREE Nicotine replacement therapy consisting of patches, lozenges or gum Ongoing support via telephone, home visits, one to one consultation or group consultation Support and advice with Zyban and Champix

This service is for all whānau, iwi and hapu of Te Hiku and all registered clients of Te Tai Tokerau PHO in the Far North.
