This programme works specifically with rangatahi aged 13-15 yrs within secondary schools in the Lower Hutt Region.
“Mā te mahi ngātahi a te takitini, ka pakari te tangata takitahi”
The name Ngātahi Takitahi reflects our approach of collaborating with the many to strengthen and help the individual. The programme is set within a marae context, it utilises mātauranga Māori and tikanga Māori processes inside and outside school hours. It takes a whānau ora approach to bridge school, home, health, and social services to help rangatahi find a place where they can stand strong. Being school-based, the programme will also align to the health and physical education curriculum which is also embraced by the youth development sector.
