Description

Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tamawhariua is based in Katikati and is committed to providing mental health, rangatahi and whānau support services that will strengthen whānau, hapori, hapū and iwi, as well as our wider community.

To help and assist whānau who are having a difficult time. We create an environment that is safe, empowering and nurtures growth and confidence in you to be able to handle the pressures that our lives endure. We want our families and whānau to have a great engagement experience in every forum that they choose, while being guided by our principles of Tika, Pono and Aroha. This service can support with navigating through government organisations, completing and submitting forms, assistance with MSD, MYIR and help with seeking employment opportunities and house hunting. Referrals to specific services such as budgeting, Triple P Parenting, Reading and Language support and can access supports specific to your needs.

To work alongside rangatahi/youth and their whānau. To receive optimal cultural care and support in order to empower them to achieve their goals, with the aim that rangatahi/youth no longer offend or exhibit anti social behaviour.

Whānau Ora Kaiarahi

Our Kaiārahi Whānau Ora Navigator provides support to whānau through working with them to create and then implement plans that positively impact on family growth, development and wellbeing. Plans are whānau-centred, and can include anything from educational goals to social, health, cultural, or economic goals, but plans must also reflect the desires of the whānau so that whānau are self-directed and empowered as they achieve their plans. Kaiārahi also support whānau to integrate social and health services, improving their own outcomes, moving towards optimal independence, and greater enjoyment of life – a mauri ora state of being.

Kahu Taurima Māmā & Pepi Service

Service delivery and support for the first 2,000 days of a pepi life through care and support where mātauranga Māori sets the foundations for Hauora Māori. This approach means that more whānau will have access to Te Ao Māori solutions that provide integrated and whānau directed care and support in communities. This service will be delivered through mātauranga Māori, parenting programs, rongoa and general wellbeing support for the whānau of the pepi.
