Description

The aim of Community Action on Youth & Drugs (CAYAD) is to reduce alcohol and drug related harm in and to young people.

CAYAD uses a community action approach to engage communities to address the conditions and environments in which young people live that increase the risk of their harmful use of alcohol and other drugs.

The focus of the work CAYAD does is on increasing informed community discussion and debate about issues related to alcohol and other drugs; working with others to adopt effective policies and practices to reduce alcohol and other drug related harm; increasing local capacity to support young people in education, employment and recreation; and reducing supply of alcohol and other drugs to young people.

CAYAD works with populations in communities so is able to work with hapū, marae, Iwi, schools, Sports Clubs, and other groups in our community.
