Atareira promotes mental health and addiction recovery through partnerships with whānau, service-users and their communities.
Atareira’s offices are located in Porirua, in Wellington City and Lower Hutt. Our mobile workers cover all areas throughout the Wellington catchment area.
Atareira offers a number of services including: Whānau Support, Transitional Housing, Child and Youth services, Anxiety management programmes and Support Groups. Contact us for more information.

Our family and whānau services help families enhance their wellbeing by building on their resilience, understanding and affirming their experience of supporting someone with mental health and/or addiction concerns. Support for children, Māori and Pasifika whānau available.

We provide short-term transitional housing and support to individuals and whānau that are temporarily experiencing homelessness. Included in our support is help to find sustainable housing. While staying in a Transitional Housing home, residents take care of their own basic living needs, including: - personal hygiene - cleaning and cooking - transport etc Staff will work alongside residents to develop a Housing Action Plan which includes working towards finding future accommodation. We encourage residents to link in and receive support from other services while with Atareira Transitional Housing. Please contact us for more information.

You will be expected to attend an assessment interview

Based on the information we receive and your interview, we will determine your eligibility for the service and notify you of the outcome.
If you are deemed eligible, when a vacancy arises you will have an opportunity to view the room and accept or decline our offer of temporary housing.
