Description
Odyssey House Trust Christchurch provides therapeutic support and education to clients with drug and alcohol addictions and/or Mental Health needs. Our mission is to reduce the harm to the individual, family and community by reducing the long term effects of addictions and mental health.
Staff
We have staff teams made up of - Social Workers, Counsellors, Nurses, AOD Counsellors, Peer Support, Support Workers, Occupational Therapists and Art Therapists.

This service provides drug-free residential treatment for males aged 17 and over who are experiencing significant harm as a result of their own alcohol and or other drug use. The programmes are based on the therapeutic community concept of mutual self help. A small number of national referrals are accepted for clients who have a methamphetamine dependence and Corrections clients. Read more about the service here.

Referral Process
All referrals must come via an Alcohol & Other Drugs assessment completed by an agency approved by the Ministry of Health prior to entry into the Odyssey House Christchurch Programme.
Referral outside of the South Island can be accepted if methamphetamine is a concern or if Corrections refers the person.
In Canterbury the referral agencies are:
- C.A.D.S
- Any NGO who can complete an AOD assessment

This includes those that use and those who have concerns regarding someone else’s use. Service users are assigned their own Counsellor and can be supported at any stage of their journey.
