Pathways works closely with Workwise employment agency if people need support to find or keep a job that’s right for them. Transitional employment opportunities Established in 2002 Hamlin Road Farm in Auckland offers people the chance to work as a farmhand for up to six months, gaining valuable paid work experience while they prepare for permanent employment elsewhere. During their time at Hamlin Road Farm workers work with an employment consultant to develop a CV. They also have the opportunity to complete a National Certificate in Horticulture. This recovery-focused service provides care for people who require supervision and support in a structured environment. The service is for people who are experiencing deterioration in their mental health or who are recovering from an acute occurrence and require a high level of supervision and support. Care is residential for those who require 24-hour supervision and who may otherwise be admitted to hospital. A day programme is available for those requiring supervision for some part of the day. This service focuses on the development of skills that will help the person to become more independent and able to reintegrate into the community.
