Alcohol & Drug Service (Co-Existing Problems)

Recovery focused service for those people affected by mental illness and alcohol and/or drug misuse. The service works with individuals aged 18 years or older who have mental illness and alcohol and/or drug misuse. This service is for those who have a mental health problem that is worsened by the misuse of substances or substance abuse issues. Services are delivered in a manner that is culturally appropriate. They are holistic addressing all issues affecting one’s wellbeing. Referrals will be made with the individuals consent to other services for specialised or other services. Services are community based and include home based delivery. Whānau involvement is encouraged wherever possible.

Description

The service works with individuals aged 18 years or older who have mental illness and alcohol and/or drug misuse. This service is for those who have a mental health problem that is worsened by the misuse of substances or substance abuse issues.

Kaupapa Māori Alcohol & Drug Clinical Community Support Service

This service centres on supporting you and your whānau to reduce alcohol and drug misuse and abuse. This service works with individuals and/or whānau using a kaupapa Māori approach that aims to reduce alcohol and drug related to individuals and/or their whānau. It promotes healthy lifestyle and healthy choices for individuals and their whānau. Education is provided to support individuals and/or their whānau achieve optimum wellness. The service is available to anyone who identifies they need support to reduce alcohol and drug related misuse. The service will also work with whānau to support them to better understand what their whānau member is going through, the impact this may have on them, ways to cope and where to seek help.

This service works with individuals and/or whānau using a kaupapa Māori approach that aims to reduce alcohol and drug related to individuals and/or their whānau. It promotes healthy lifestyle and healthy choices for individuals and their whānau. Education is provided to support individuals and/or their whānau achieve optimum wellness.

Kaupapa Māori Community Based Nurse-Led Service: A kaupapa Māori approach to care primarily offering support and education to individuals and whānau who are affected by a long term illness. The Kaupapa Māori Nurse Led Community Based Service focuses on clients who have long term conditions, have high risk factors, and are diagnosed at a young age adults or children. It provides support and education to those affected by a long term illness such as diabetes type 1 and 2, respiratory conditions (asthma and COPD), and cardiovascular conditions.
