Mental Health Service, Addiction

Today

Description

It doesn't matter what's causing you worry, our team are here to help.

It’s common to sometimes feel life is getting on top of you, and that perhaps your thoughts, feelings or actions are having an impact on your health and wellbeing.

Reaching out for help doesn’t need to be scary. Our Access & Choice team can help you work things through and get back on track.

Unlike some other talking therapy services, you can normally talk to one of our team on the same day you ask for help.

There is no referral criteria, and our teams are based in general practice, Iwi & Māori health providers and community locations right across the district so there’s always someone close to you, wherever you are and the service is completely free to access.

Staff

If you choose to connect with our Access & Choice service, here are some of the people you may get to know:

Kaiwhakapuaki Waiora, Health Coaches and Peer Navigators – our Kaiwhakapuaki Waiora and Health Coaches know lots about the different services and support available to you in our rohe. They are here to help develop your confidence, share knowledge with you, connect you to other services that may be useful to you, and support you to achieve your goals.

Mātanga Whai Ora – this is someone who you can talk to about whatever is having an impact on your health and wellbeing. They are experienced in helping people explore issues and coming up with a plan of action around how to tackle some of these challenges. You can see Mātanga Whai Ora whenever a need arises for you, and they can help you make positive changes to your life.
