We provide community support for older peoples, people living with disability, and those needing support for mental health. Vaka Tautua is a charitable organisation, ‘By Pacific, For Pacific’, working hard to improve the health and wellbeing of our Pacific people in New Zealand.
Vaka Tautua works hard to meet the needs of our clients and their fanau in a culturally respectful way, working alongside Pacific clinical services, churches, and communities. Our aim is to foster recovery, resilience, and independence through offering culturally effective support to those with a disability or mental illness.

The service involves individual and group support, brief interventions, and information on how to access community resources and services. Vaka Tautua offers a mental health community support service, underpinned by the POPAO model (a Pacific recovery and strength concept) that is pivotal to the recovery of service users by empowering them through their journey towards recovery. Service users are supported in their recovery and assisted to navigate their way through other support agencies in order to address specific needs. The team works alongside your family and others in your support network.
