Description
Waitaha Primary Health provides and supports health services in Canterbury's rural and urban communities, including a primary mental health service.
We are responsible for providing essential primary health care services to our enrolled population. We cover the region stretching all the way north to Cheviot, down to Ashburton, west to Hanmer Springs, and east to Akaroa. Staff
Brief Intervention Co-Ordinator provides up to four free sessions, supporting individuals with pragmatic psychological strategies to assist them in overcoming their difficulties.
Rural Mental Health Specialists provides a link between primary and specialist mental health services. The primary care liaison assist primary care with the appropriate identification, referral and case management for individuals working through mental illness.
Consultant Clinical Psychologist leads the Waitaha Primary Health's primary mental health team. The clinical psychologist maintains a clinical caseload and is involved in employment, management and contractual issues related to primary mental health.
