Yellow Brick Road provides a range of confidential support including education, navigation through various services, information provision and advocacy. Services include:
- One-on-one and group support sessions
- Innovative educational programmes for children/tamariki, youth/rangitahi, adults, and older people covering a range of mental health and wellbeing topics
- Advocacy, for when you find it difficult to access the services your family whānau need
- Family peer support groups
- Suicide postvention support
We can also create an action plan to help you and your family member throughout their recovery. We have books, articles and other resources and information about locally-available services that may also help you.

Families are the unsung heroes out there, trying to support their loved family member, and we are the ones caring for them and helping them along that path. Our family support workers offer confidential guidance and navigation through mental health services, advocacy and education, through individual/family meetings and/or a number of different programmes for both individuals and groups, plus support groups. Our service covers both Christchurch and the greater Canterbury Region. Support staff are also available to talk with you on the phone during working hours. If you would like more information, or you’re not sure and would just like to talk to someone, contact one of the Yellow Brick Roads friendly support staff by phone or email. They will help with one-to-one support, information about the mental health system, education programmes and help to advocate for you and your whānau. There is no charge for our service.
