Mr Christopher Porter

Chris is a specialist Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon based in Christchurch combining both private and public practices. He completed his medical degree from Otago University in 1994 and focused his post- graduate studies in surgery.

In 1996 he was awarded the Gordon Gordon-Taylor gold medal for gaining the top mark in the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons examinations. Admitted for training in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery he graduated FRACS in 2004 and then furthered his studies in Oxford, UK, and finally in Los Angeles. In LA he worked at the University of Southern California as a Visiting Professor where his experience and knowledge was recognised as an invitation to oversee, train and up skill the largest group of plastic surgical trainees in the United States. Chris was invited back to work in his home town of Christchurch and was appointed to staff at the public hospital in 2006.

Chris has a diverse professional interest incorporating all facets of plastic surgery with a special cosmetic surgery interest in his private practice. He has gained many professional connections overseas which has enabled Chris to optimise his knowledge and skill base about the latest Plastic Surgery developments on offer.
