Procedures / Treatments
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections work by taking the healing cells and messenger molecules from your blood, and injecting them into the site of injury or pain. This can benefit tendon problems (tennis elbow/golfers elbow, Achilles, rotator cuff, gluteal tendons). It can also benefit low grade arthritis and prevent worsening arthritis. The platelets gather and activate growth factors to stimulate healing and regeneration. This is performed using ultrasound or fluoroscopy guidance alongside radiologists for safety and accuracy. Conditions such as arthritis or sciatica with an acute flare-up in pain or swelling may benefit from a steroid or 'cortisone' injection. It works quickly, being a potent anti-inflammatory and pain reliever, and can help in the rehabilitation process to get our patients moving free from pain. This is performed into the target area with ultrasound guidance. Click here for more information

Spine problems can be difficult to diagnose and treat. Fluoroscopy is a minimally invasive, low-radiation procedure to safely guide injections into the target areas and block the pain, thus diagnosing the problem and relieving the pain simultaneously. Injections done include facet joint injections, epidural corticosteroid injections for sciatica and nerve pain, sacro-iliac joint injections, medial branch blocks for arthritis pain and others. Chronic back or neck pain is often not appropriate for surgery. A large proportion of chronic back and neck pain is derived from the joints in your back, called Facet Joints or Zygapophyseal Joints. Rhizolysis is the Radiofrequency Ablation of the small nerve, called the Medial Branch, which transmits the pain information from your spinal facet joints. This can treat the pain coming from the facet joints in your back or neck, without the higher risks of surgery. This is performed under local anaesthetic, and with strict criteria to ensure it is the right procedure for you. Click here for more information

Shockwave therapy or ECSWT (Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy) involves directing high energy sound waves into painful, injured or degenerative tissue within the body. The aim is to reduce sensitivity in the damaged area, reduce symptoms and accelerate healing by increasing blood circulation and cellular regeneration. Click here for more information
