I trained in orthopaedic surgery in New Zealand and worked in Boston at Harvard in lower limb surgery and at Vancouver General Hospital in trauma surgery.

I have my private practice at Ascot Integrated Hospital and specialise in adult lower limb surgery - hip and knee replacements, revision hip and knee surgery, arthroscopic sports surgery, arthroscopic knee and ankle surgery, foot and ankle and trauma surgery.

I have been on the staff at Auckland City Hospital for 22 years.

For appointments in my private practice a referral is required.

You must have sent to the clinic prior to your appointment:

1. Any letters or reports from your doctor or other hospital.

2. Any X-Rays, CT or MRI films and reports. Bring all CDs and hard copy films.

3. All medicines you are taking including herbal and natural remedies.

4. Your ACC number and date of injury if your consultation is to be covered by ACC.

Foot and ankle surgery

Foot and ankle surgeries are operations that help fix problems in your feet and ankles, like broken bones, arthritis, or injuries to the ligaments and tendons. Surgery might be: Arthroscopic: less invasive surgery. The surgeon makes small cuts and uses a tiny camera to see inside. They can then fix or take out the damaged parts. Open: for more complicated problems, the surgeon makes a larger cut to get a better look and fix the damaged parts directly. Joint Replacement (ankle): when the ankle is badly damaged, the surgeon might remove the damaged areas and replace them with parts made of special materials.
