Referral Expectations

I would recommend getting a referral from your General Practitioner (GP) as they can help you decide if I am the right specialist to see your child. It is important to keep working with your GP as they will have a long term relationship with your family. I understand a GP referral is not always possible hence I also accept self referrals.

How to prepare for your virtual appointment

  1. For video consults, you will be sent a doxy.me link to your phone or email to join the virtual meeting room. Doxy.me is a secure platform used by many practices.
  2. Write down any questions you would like answered so you do not forget any.
  3. Complete and return any questionnaires that I may have sent you at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.
  4. Have relevant information such as medications, well child book, results or assessments readily available.
  5. Find a place in your home where you are not likely to be interrupted and will provide privacy.
  6. Check you have enough battery power left or are connected to power.
  7. Test the microphone and speaker a few minutes before the meeting.

The appointment

I believe in taking enough time to hear your concerns and discuss management options. For this reason, most initial appointments will be 60minutes long. If there are complex issues, then a longer appointment will be required to ensure all your concerns are addressed.

 After the appointment

I will prepare a summary report with a recommended treatment plan. This will be sent to you and your GP.

Any blood test requests or prescriptions will be sent electronically to your nearest facility.

A follow up appointment may be made if required.
