Dr Jafer has an interest in upper and lower gastrointestinal diseases, IBD, IBS, CRC screening and gastrointestinal bleeding/anaemia.  He's subspecialised in capsule endoscopy and is an accredited preferred provider for Southern Cross.

Gastroenterologist / Endoscopist

Dr Jafer completed his post qualification training in Auckland in general medicine and gastroenterology. After obtaining his FRACP, he worked at Middlemore Hospital as a consultant then did his postgraduate training at the Royal Free Hospital in London on luminal gastroenterology and trained on capsule endoscopy, CT colonography and colorectal screening.
Since February 2008 he has been employed as a specialist gastroenterologist and physician at Waitemata DHB. He has been appointed as clinical director for gastroenterology and endoscopy since September 2011. He also works in private at Waitemata Gastroenterology, 15 Shea Tce, Takapuna, and Henderson Medical Centre, corner of Great North Road and Mantel Ave. He performs his endoscopy at Waitemata Endoscopy, Southern Cross North Harbour.
